- What is 'Hybrid Cloud Enablement' if you don't build the actual clouds?
Our role is that of a platform engineer. We assume you already have your infrastructure (e.g., a VMware data center and a cloud account). We build and manage the crucial layer on top of it, a unified platform like OpenShift, that makes both environments operate as a single, cohesive system from an application and developer perspective.
- How do you ensure security is consistent across different environments?
We use a 'Policy as Code' approach. By defining security rules, network policies, and access controls in code within the platform layer (e.g., Kubernetes NetworkPolicies, OPA Gatekeeper), we can enforce those rules identically, no matter if the application is running on your on-premise server or in a public cloud.
- Does this mean our developers have to learn the specifics of each cloud?
No, and that is the primary benefit. Our platform abstracts away the underlying infrastructure. Your developers only need to learn how to deploy to one target: the Kubernetes/OpenShift platform. The platform then handles the specifics of running it in the correct environment, drastically simplifying their workflow.
